A dedicated Head of Sixth Form as well as a team of experienced tutors, pastoral manager and study support supervisor ensure that all of our students receive the very best support in their learning and overall well-being.

Tutors and mentors will support you in your learning by tracking your progress and helping to set and review personal targets. 'Teachers use pupils’ assessment information regularly to ensure that their planning and teaching responds to the emerging needs of each pupil. Teaching in the sixth form is well planned and students’ learning is supported through regular feedback.' OFSTED. Subject teachers will set target grades for each of you based on your GCSE results and external data. Accountability gets results and you need to be able to assess your own progress and think about how you can achieve the best possible results. There are regular meetings between staff to discuss your progress, monitor your attendance and punctuality and provide necessary support. Hardworking students who are achieving above their expected levels are identified and congratulated.

FACILITIES and resources

At Brentford 6th Form our students benefit from excellent specialist resources and facilities. The 6th Form Centre provides state-of-the-art facilities exclusively for 6th form students where they may study and socialise. Our students are able to work independently using a dedicated computer suite and there is a supervised private study area where students can access support from a member of the 6th Form team. All students have at least two dedicated study periods each week to facilitate outstanding progress.

The high ceilings and studious atmosphere make this an ideal place to complete independent silent study, whilst the café style social areas provide valuable opportunities to meet and interact with other students and share learnings. The facilities are open from early in the morning and after the school day has ended and the excellent resources across the school support the learning of both A-level and BTEC students.

Brentford 6th Form students are offered a laptop to borrow throughout their two years of study, which they may use when on site or at home. Other benefits available to students are revision books for all subjects and online providers such as Unifrog and SnapRevise. Throughout the year external providers are also available these include 1-1 tutoring, revision support and student wellbeing.
