Brentford School for Girls (BSfG) say they are proud to be involved in the ‘Languages for All’ programme in partnership with the esteemed Royal Holloway University. This exciting initiative aims to inspire and equip students with essential language skills, preparing them for success in an increasingly globalised world.
The programme kicked off with twelve ambitious Year 11 students visiting Royal Holloway University, where they enjoyed an enriching day that included a campus tour, lunch, and engaging activities to practice their language skills, including a spontaneous speaking game designed to boost their confidence ahead of their GCSE exams.
Languages for All is a non-profit making organisation that connects schools with universities, employers, and cultural institutions to make language learning more accessible, relevant, and engaging. By linking languages to real-world careers and experiences, the programme ensures students see the value of multilingualism in their personal and professional lives. It also aims to eliminate barriers to advanced language learning, ensuring every child has an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.
“Learning a second language is a gateway to so many opportunities,” said Mrs Charbonnier, Head of MFL at Brentford School for Girls. “It enhances cognitive abilities, builds confidence, and gives students a competitive edge in today’s job market. We’re thrilled to participate in Languages for All and to help create a brighter future for our students.”
As part of this commitment to promoting language learning, Brentford School for Girls is also delighted to announce the introduction of A-level French starting in September 2025. This exciting addition will open new doors for students, giving them the chance to develop their communication skills, cultural awareness, and academic excellence.
Studying A-level French not only showcases adaptability and commitment to learning but also positions students as strong candidates in the global job market. Employers value multilingual professionals, and this qualification demonstrates a student’s ability to excel in a challenging academic environment.
Brentford School for Girls remains dedicated to fostering a love of languages and preparing students for a successful future. Parents and carers are encouraged to learn more about how language study can benefit their children by contacting the school for more information.
