Brentford School for Girls say they are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable cycling achievements of Myra, a dedicated staff member who has once again showcased her endurance and passion for the sport.

This year marked Myra’s third consecutive completion of the prestigious Ride London event. Despite facing torrential rain and fierce winds, Myra persevered through the gruelling 100-mile challenge, achieving her personal best in both time and speed. ‘‘It doesn’t get any easier,’’ she admits, “but the support of the local community cheering them on was heartwarming and motivating.”

Myra’s journey didn’t end with Ride London. Last month, she had the incredible opportunity to participate in Scotland’s renowned Etape Caledonia. In a fully supported sportive event featuring over 4,000 participants, Myra successfully completed the challenging 85-mile route with a 4,905 ft elevation, marking her biggest climb to date. She was joined by twenty Cycle Sisters, each tackling different routes but united in their determination to conquer the Scottish highlands. The local community’s warmth and support added to the memorable experience.

Myra takes immense pride in representing Cycle Sisters, a club for which she serves as a Ride Leader. ‘‘The camaraderie and encouragement within the cycling community are truly inspiring,’’ says Myra. Her achievements underscore the strength and unity of Cycle Sisters, a club that continues to grow and leave its mark on the cycling world.

Myra’s passion for cycling was helped by the school offering employers a ‘Cycle to Work Scheme’ as a benefit of working at the school. This scheme is popular and a growing number of staff at the school are now riding to school and, thus, helping the environment.
